A little advice from an experienced movie-goer: Always go into a movie with low expectations. It almost always allows for a nice experience. Not always though, some movies are just too horrendous there is no hope.
I didn't expect much from You Again? Even though it includes numerous of my favorite people. Kristen Bell, Victor Garber, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Betty White. Even Patrick Duffy (aka Frank Lambert from Step by Step) was in there for a hot second. It seemed silly and as if it would be stupid. It was kind of both, but it made me laugh and the acting was for most of the actors very good.
For what it was, it was fabulous. Kristen Bell was very entertaining, probably one of her best roles yet. I didn't even once think I was watching Veronica Mars in a different situation. That is my true test of an actor, if I don't feel as if they are still another character, specially a character like Veronica Mars which I absolutely adore. So kudos to you my dear Kristen.
And Victor! Oh Victor! He was stunning, and I am so glad he got a comedic role because he is so truly comical and most of his roles have totally inhibited that side of his personality. Specially as Jack Bristow on Alias.
Jamie Lee Curtis is who she is. Her acting is typically the same but I am fond of her and her ability to be light yet deep. Odd.
Avatar made me love Sigourney Weaver in a way I never saw coming. I loved her in both Heartbreakers and in Holes yet I never thought of her until Avatar. So now she is a well liked actress by me.
I fell in love with Betty White during the dancing scene with Sandra Bullock in The Proposal. She was eh in this movie. Nothing too special, but she did her part as best as possible. Mostly it was just too similar to her character in The Proposal which at the time seemed so fun and refreshing.
Oh! I forgot "The Rock" was in it at the beginning! He was good and that part was funny. "Bullies are like terrorists, just emotional terrorists" One of my favorite parts was when Kristen (Marni) was yelling at someone on why she wasn't over the girl who bullied her in high school and she just yelled "She's an emotional terrorist" I don't know why that made me giggle, but it did.
